AMS Meeting on Wednesday, November 2nd at Pizza Ranch

We will be having our next AMS meeting on Wednesday, November 2nd, in the "Cowpokes Room" at the Pizza Ranch in Rapid City. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Matthew Bunkers, the Science and Operations Officer from the National Weather Service in Rapid City. He will be discussing the Local Winter Storm Scale which recently appeared in the Bulletin of the AMS. Matt is going to look at some cases from Rapid City.

We will start the meeting with Matt speaking at 1220 pm. Feel free to come early and visit, I will arrive around noon. If you will be a little late due to classes or other engagements, do not worry. There is a back door so you can sneak in and out to refill your plate!

Our next AMS meeting will be Thursday, April 28th at 700 pm. The location will be at the National Weather Service office. We will be having our annual photo/video contest, along with having elections for new officers. If you have any questions, drop me an e-mail at blackhillsams@gmail.com.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, February 10th, at the Pizza Ranch in the "Cowpokes" room. Our guest speaker will be Daniel Mulally, Vice President of Technology and R&D for Airdat. Dan will start speaking around 1200 pm, so come early and have a bite to eat.

Also, we will be collecting dues at this meeting, which are payable to either myself or Shawn H. Dues will remain at $5, with a discounted rate of $3 for students.
